Joyce Anderson, REALTOR, Attorney

Joyce Anderson is a coal miner’s daughter, born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, to immigrant parents. With the aid of scholarships, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the first in her family to be college-educated.

Ms. Anderson was married for three decades to the late Edward A. Anderson, a graduate of University of Miami (and a member of Iron Arrow), who was the Chairperson of Communication Arts & Philosophy at Miami–Dade College for many years.

In 1986, Ms. Anderson, as a Realtor, incorporated Lifestyle Realty, Inc. and then in 1992 she graduated from St Thomas University School of Law, and was soon employed as an attorney by the law Firm of Blackwell & Walker, LLC.

Joyce Anderson now practices dual careers as a Realtor and as an attorney.

Ms. Anderson is a title insurance agent with ATTORNEYS TITLE INSURANCE FUND and a member of Dade County Attorneys’ Real Estate Council. Her experience includes having been appointed by the Florida Bar Board of Governors to the statewide Realtor-Attorney committee responsible for drafting and updating the FAR-BAR real estate sales contract used statewide. She has served as Chairperson of the Dade County Bar Real Estate Committee, and as an officer of the Probate Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.

Ms. Anderson is a participating attorney with the pre-paid legal plan for Miami-Dade County employees, ARAG.

As a Realtor and then as an attorney, Ms. Anderson has taught Real Estate Finance and Business Law at Miami-Dade College.

Currently, the law office focuses on closings for both residential and commercial properties; the preparation of commercial leases; the preparation of testamentary wills and advance directives; trusts; guardianship; and probate.

Mortgage Law: The old adage of “Let the Buyer Beware” was never more true than it is in mortgage lending. Ms. Anderson was trained and active for several years as a mortgage law attorney, originating mortgage loans through Attorneys Mortgage Services at wholesale rates to the Borrower. The Law Office and the Real Estate office work together to market and close short sales.
