“ORLANDO, Fla. – Aug. 25, 2017 – Florida Realtors is asking all members to contact their U.S. House representatives TODAY to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which is set to expire on Sept. 30, 2017.nsurers into the market to give consumers more choices.

There’s much at stake for the Florida real estate market:

  • Florida has more NFIP policies than any other state.
  • Your property may undergo large loss of value if the market is allowed to crash.
  • Without flood insurance, home sales don’t close, and our communities are unprotected and at risk.

Without the NFIP, 40,000 residential transactions a month will not happen.

Bottom line: If this legislation doesn’t pass, your home’s value could drop overnight!
